Came across some stone features of note in the Mud Pond Conservation Area and Country Park in Williston, Vermont this fall. A big research project in Maine and a conference in Brattleboro have kept me from writing up and sharing more about the stone features thus far, so I thought I’d at least share a little raw footage.
Approaching this stone row, I noted some even coursework to the left, along the flat hilltop. But to my right, heading downhill, the stone row retained some iconographic zoomorphic work marking it as an older effigy row. It appeared a little of the work on the left was later settler’s “repair” work. Judge for yourself.
No narration or edits, just three (3) bits of raw footage strung together from my walk along this stone row. In truth, it’s not entirely raw, as I did add fade-ins and -outs so thing would flow smoothly.
