Third Berlin, Massachusetts Stone Row Walk-Along - 25+ Minutes of Raw Video
Walking A Wetland Stone Row & Observing Effigy Forms
As the third in this series of stone row walk-alongs was likely too long and large to upload here on substack, it’s been posted to YouTube instead.
This fascinating stone row displays many possible effigy configurations.
This stone row begins in a wetland, then turns a corner and goes uphill where it then connects with another stone row, which is followed until it becomes inaccessible. There is no narration or music, but I let the camera silently linger on possible effigy features as I travel along the stone row. The travel can be rather noisy at time as sticks crunch underfoot.
Although I call it raw video, there are some light edits to remove stray bits of conversation or obnoxious background noises. Otherwise, this is pretty much the stone row as seen that afternoon. The videos are stitched-together because I’d stop video to take still shots while traveling along the stone row.
There was a lot to see in the Berlin woods. I’m working on an “Experiencing” presentation now. The suggestion to explore these sites came from Stone Site Investigator Amanda Riani. Thank you, again, Amanda!
By the way: the short black and white footage used in the opening and closing is "An Old Black And White Video Of A Park" in the public domain and was shared on Pexels Videos by Life On Super 8 (#2759445), and the Music is by Kevin MacLeod.
